The First Urogynecology Fellowship (2021–2025)
Yerevan
In 2021, the first urogynecology fellowship program of its kind was launched in the Republic of Armenia. The program aimed to train Armenian physicians in modern approaches to the accurate diagnosis and management of women with pelvic floor disorders.
Within the framework of the program, pessary treatment was introduced. As a result, many women were given the opportunity to resolve their conditions without surgical intervention—within just a few minutes.
Upon completion of the fellowship program, we can proudly state that the specialists have achieved full proficiency in the accurate diagnosis of pelvic floor disorders, as well as in all modern conservative and surgical treatment methods.
Most importantly, a high level of professional responsibility and ethical clinical judgment has been established, ensuring a professional approach also toward women who, in fact, do not require medical treatment.
